The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Post Security (ICP) informed the authorised typing offices of its decision to decrease the overstaying fine for visitors and tourists to Dhs50 per day instead of Dhs100.
The ICP also announced that within the new amendments to the visa system, the fine for overstaying of foreign residents has been raised from Dhs25 to Dhs50 per day.
During a workshop on amendments to the smart services system that came in accordance with the Cabinet Resolution No. 65 of 2022, the ICP said that the fine payment are made easily via its electronic services or through the various ports of the country.
A number of typing offices in Abu Dhabi explained that the new amendments to the visa system included new additions to new categories that did not exist previously.
These categories are green residency for an investor or a partner, green residency for highly skilled workers, green residency for freelance workers and newborns for green residency holders, golden residency for university graduates outside the country, golden residency for frontline workers, newborns for golden residency holders, family members of a citizen, and family members of a GCC citizen.
They also added that six services for issuing residency have been suspended. They are the golden residency for executive directors of entrepreneurs, golden residency for senior employees of an investor, family members of a citizen sponsor or an Omani citizen, newborns of a citizen sponsor or an Omani citizen, newborns of golden residency holders form senior employees of an investor and newborns of a golden residency holders from executive directors of entrepreneurs.
They further said that in accordance with the amendments to the Humanitarian Case Services, children (males) up to 25 years can be sponsored by the parents without a humanitarian case request.
While all holders of golden residency can sponsor their family members without humanitarian case request (husband, wife, sons “regardless their age”, daughters, father and mother).
