Man caught red-handed hiding drugs inside Dhs10 note in Dubai

Dubai Police arrested an Asian in Ras Al Khor area, with two other drug abusers, who were referred to the court after being caught red-handed, hiding drugs inside two rolls of a 10-dirham banknote.

Dubai Criminal Court sentenced him to 5 years in jail, to be followed by deportation after serving his sentence and fined him Dhs50,000

The details of the case which took place in June 2022, when information was received that the suspect possessed a quantity of drugs.

A policeman stated in the investigations that trusted information was received by the Anti-Narcotics Department in Dubai Police alerting that an Asian facilitated drug abuse for others and possessed a quantity of them in the Ras Al Khor area.

The policeman added that a team from the Anti-Narcotics Department headed to Ras Al Khor area and arrested the suspect, along with two others under the influence of drugs.

After inspecting the suspect, two packages of 10 dirhams were found in his possession, containing narcotic substances.

He was arrested with the other two suspects.

According to the forensic lab report, the sample of the suspects proved that the substances found were narcotic crystals, and that the sample of the convict and the others showed that they had abused drugs.

Upon interrogations, the suspect admitted to abusing drugs obtained through the WhatsApp app from a dealer outside the country, and he also admitted facilitating abusing drugs to others.
