Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi led a cycling marathon early on Thursday in Sharm El Sheikh city to inspect the COP27 eco-friendly Green Zone. Al Sisi met with a number of youth and foreign visitors participating in the COP27 summit during his inspection tour of the Green Zone.
During his tour, The President inspected the environmentally friendly Green Zone, which witnesses many events and activities during the convening of the Conference of Parties, according to Al Masry Al Youm website.
The Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly previously inaugurated the Green Zone, which witnessed different events and activities on the sidelines of the COP27, as part of the 27th session hosted in Sharm El Sheikh.
Madbouly expressed his pleasure with the inauguration of the Green Zone for the Conference, which Egypt chairs this year. He pointed out that there is a keenness to design the Green Zone at the highest possible level, in order to surpass its counterparts in previous conferences.
Madbouly indicated that the area allocated to the Green Zone at this summit is much larger than any previous climate summits, considering that this conveys an important message from Egypt, that it is looking forward to hearing the other opinion, as all organisations, individuals and entities that have a voice other than the official side, will have the chance to actively involve in this event.
