A giant shark has caused panic aboard a fishing boat in northern New Zealand, after it suddenly jumped onto the deck.
Local media reports indicated that the giant predator was a Shortfin mako shark, which jumped onto the deck of the boat, carrying 5 fishing enthusiasts, off the coast of Withianga in the North Island of New Zealand.
The shark kept fighting to get back into the water again, and succeeded after a short time.
The shark was separated from the boat by one of the fishermen.
One of the fishermen said, "The shark jumped suddenly onto our boat, we were very scared, the scene was crazy."
He pointed out that the fish weighed about 150 kilogrammes and was 3 metres long.
