A group of diners in Abu Dhabi paid over a half-a-million dirhams for a dinner meal on a single night.
The Dhs615,065 incident took place at Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Abu Dhabi, and the bill of the restaurant has gone viral on social media platforms.
The steakhouse is owned and run by Nusret Gokce aka Salt Bae, a handsome Turkish butcher, chef, and restaurateur. Nusret has a chain of steak houses scattered around the world.
Nusret took to Instagram and shared the bill.
He wrote, “Quality never expensive #saltbae #saltlife #salt…” with a picture of the bill.
Talking about the bill, the most expensive orders were bottles of Petrus, an extraordinarily rich, powerful and concentrated French wine.
The reason for such a high price tag is that there are barely any bottles produced each year.
The bill revealed that five bottles of Petrus cost the diners Dhs325,000, while two bottles of Petrus 2009 cost them another Dhs200,000.
Other alcoholic beverages amounted to Dhs45,000 and one Chateau Margaux cost them Dhs15,500.
Other expensive dishes were 15 Golden Baklavas, which amounted to Dhs5,850.
The cheapest item on the bill was a Heineken.
The diners’ identity was not revealed but the half-a-million-dirham receipt went viral.

Social media users shared their reaction on the bill with most of them criticising the lavish spending.
Aboubaker Lachgar said on Instagram, “90% of this che is just alcohol, what quality are you talking about ?? Did you produce the Petrus Louis 13?”
Viktoria Vabishchevych wrote, “$170000, the most stupid things ever to spend for the toilet. Yes it’s true, nice quality food should be in your daily menu. Organic 100%. But I think even the most expensive cow will not cost this moneycongratulations for nusr_et to make good money and business in general . But please at least hide it from people. There is such a big difference from rich to poor. Think about people who didn’t even see meat steak in their life. They are happy if they have at least bread…”
Michelle Elise said, “This is insanity. This isn’t even about good food. This is just criminal pricing. All ego. Why don’t you take some of that overcharged money you’re getting from the ridiculously rich and feed the starving children in 3rd world countries and build them schools and hospitals.”
Others ridiculed the status-post.
One person wrote, “When did you switch from selling expensive steaks to wine…?”
Nusret's claim to fame is not just his mouth-watering steaks, but his technique for preparing and seasoning meat which has taken the internet by storm.
At just 36, his successful restaurant chain attracts celebrities like Leonardo Dicaprio, Lionel Messi and DJ Khalid who’re just as enamoured with Nusret as we are.
