The Umm Al Quwain Police on Saturday announced an initiative to offer a 50 per cent discount on the traffic fines for all violations registered before October 31, 2022, excluding the critical violations.
The offer will start on December 1, 2022 and continue valid until January 6, 2023, the police said.
This move aligns with the Umm Al Quwain Police's endeavor to adopt initiatives that contribute to the happiness of society, and to ease burdens on vehicle owners to enable them renew registration of their vehicles.
The police called on all vehicle drivers and road users to abide by the traffic regulations and laws, to ensure their safety and the safety of others and in order to avoid occurrence of road accidents.
The UAQ Police excluded a certain types of violations from the initiative, such as driving a vehicle in a way that endangers the life of the driver or the lives, security and safety of road users, or driving a vehicle in a way that would cause damage to public or private property.
Also the violations of jumping the red signal by a heavy or a light vehicle or a bike, in addition to exceeding the prescribed speed limit, by more than 80 kilometers per hour are excluded from this offer, the police confirmed.
