A 6-year-old boy escaped death after being trapped under the rubble of his home for 45 hours following the earthquake that hit the Indonesian island of Java, according to local media.
Anisa Novrianti, a spokeswoman for the Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency, explained that a team of firefighters rescued the boy at about 10:40 am, and he seemed afraid, and he could not cry until after the team took him out.
Video footage released by a volunteer and the Indonesian Search Agency showed rescuers lifting the boy from the wreckage of the two-storey home in the Kampung Rawa Sena district of Cianjur.
The 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province, but it severely affected the neighboring town of Cianjur Regency.
The earthquake destroyed more than 28,000 homes, and displaced more than 58,000 people.
The earthquake killed 284 people and injured 2,000 people, while 151 are still missing as searches continue.
