The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Sharjah Police arrested a gang of 5 Asians who specialised in robbing stores in the emirate.
Colonel Faisal Bin Nassar, Deputy Director of the CID said that by research and investigation, it was proved that the suspects were involved in several thefts from inside commercial stores in the Emirate of Sharjah, so the theft crimes teams set a well-articulated plan to catch the gangsters and seize all its members.
Bin Nassar indicated that by interrogating them, they confessed to forming a gang to rob shops.
The stolen items, which varied between mobile phones, sums of money, watches, computers, electronic devices, and others, were seized at their residence after taking all legal measures.
Bin Nassar added that the suspects will be transferred to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures against them. He called on store owners to strengthen preventive measures, such as connecting stores to a high-quality camera system, securing doors, not leaving large sums of money inside them, and keeping valuables in safe places.
Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, praised the efforts of the Criminal Investigation Department in combating crime and enhancing security and safety, praising the competencies of the police, who have demonstrated superior capabilities in detecting criminal incidents, apprehending the perpetrators, and bringing them to justice.
