The GHQ of Sharjah Police, represented by the Vehicles Registration Department, launched the e-signature service for vehicle registration to be added to the distinguished services offered by the police departments. This aligns with the strategy of the Sharjah Police to provide the best services to meet aspirations of customers.
This step aims to provide hassle-free procedures, aligning with the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior aimed at ensuring the provision of all administrative services in accordance with standards of quality, efficiency and transparency. Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Rahman Khater, Head of the Vehicles Registration Department at Sharjah Police, explained that the service enables owners of vehicles to sign electronically on the Ministry of Interior’s website to get them registered.
The first step is to go to the website of the Ministry of Interior, then choose traffic services, and then sign an agreement, then digital services, provided that the digital identity is activated. “The e-signature facilitates transactions related to export, register and transfer of vehicle ownership from one person to another without the need for visiting the service centre,” Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Rahman Khater added.
Khater also said that companies are also eligible to use the service, provided that a letter of representation from the company to allow one of the company's members to carry out their tasks in the process of registration, renewal and transfer of ownership of the company's vehicles. The representative must visit and sign at any of the following locations: Heavy Vehicles Testing Centre (Tasjeel) - Industrial Area No. 12, the police office in the red patch (car showrooms), the Al Dhaid Vehicle Registration Department, and the Kalba Police Station.
He stressed that the Sharjah Police are keen to develop the police systems and upgrade the services provided, with harnessing all their available capabilities to serve the public, easing procedures, and providing a high-end and advanced services.
