A number of areas in the country witnessed rainfall, due to an extension of a low surface pressure system from the East, accompanied with an extension of a weak upper air low-pressure system, National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) stated.
Light rain began at 8:30 am on Sakmakam and Al Souda in Fujairah, while it was moderate rain on Merbeh, Al Qaryah, Dhudna, and separate areas in Fujairah. It was also moderate on Al Nahwa, Khorfakkan, and Al Suhub rest house in Sharjah, as well as Hatta in Dubai, and other scattered areas in the country.
The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Wednesday was 7°C in Jabal Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 7:15 am.
The NCM has also indicated that the weather on Thursday is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times with a chance of formation of cumulus clouds associated with rainfall over some eastern, northern areas and the sea. It is also expected to be humid by night and on Friday morning along some inland areas.
The winds will be light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times with a speed of 10 – 20 reaching 40 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate and rough at times northward by afternoon in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.
On Friday, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy in general. Low clouds may tower over the eastern areas, sea and islands. Humid by night and Saturday morning over some internal areas.
Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times with a speed of 10 – 20 reaching 40 km/hr expected on Friday.
The sea will be moderate to rough at times westward offshore of the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
The NCM has also expected that the weather on Saturday and Sunday to partly cloudy becoming cloudy at times by evening over some coastal and northern areas accompanied by some cumulus clouds associated with rainfall.
The winds will be light to moderate southeasterly becoming northwesterly, freshening gradually by evening westward and strong at times over the sea with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 50 km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate becoming rough gradually by evening in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
