The Dubai Public Prosecution has referred a 17-year-old Asian boy to the Court of Juveniles on the charges of committing a theft, impersonating a cop, and abusing alcohol.
Bashayer Issa Al Hammadi, Assistant Chief Prosecutor at the Family and Juvenile Prosecution Office, stated that the accused, who impersonated a cop, had assaulted a person and stole his wallet on a street, while he was drunk.
In interrogation, the accused admitted to committing impersonating a cop twice and beating up a person in a public place in the Emirate of Dubai.
He said, "We were jostled while we were walking on a street, then we insulted each other and fought, as I was drunk." However, he denied the charge of theft.
She added that the accused had been brought to the Department of Family and Juvenile Cases, where he was examined, before continuing and completing the investigations.
He was found involved in committing a theft, impersonating a cop twice, and abusing alcohol in cases other than those permitted by law.
Therefore, the Public Prosecution ordered to refer the accused to the Court of Juveniles to be punished in accordance with the articles of indictment.
