The Dubai Criminal Court, in absentia, sentenced a man to imprisonment to be followed by deportation over the charge of killing a friend of him, while acquitted another from the same charge. The case dates back to last January, when the operations room at the Dubai Police received a report about a dead body that was found in a desert area in Ras Al Khor, Dubai.
“An investigation team was able, through the search and intensified investigation and with the help of surveillance cameras, to identify the two suspects in the case, and arrest one of them,” a cop testified. In details, the first accused denied complicity in the crime, stating that the accused, who is still at large, had a suspicious relationship with the victim.
“On the day of the incident, I was with them in a desert area in the Ras Al Khor, where we drank, before a brawl that took place between the accused and the victim,” the second accused told the Court. “The killer was sick of the victim, because he insulted his mother, so he beat him up with a piece of wood on the head several times, causing critical wounds to him and he died on the spot,” he added.
