His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, expressed his sincere condolences to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the death of his mother Heeraben Modi.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said on Twitter, “I offer my deepest condolences to my dear friend Prime Minister @narendramodi on the passing of his mother, Heeraben Modi. Our heartfelt sympathies are with him and his family during this difficult time.”
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, dispatched a similar cable of condolences to Modi.
On Friday morning, the last rites of Heeraben were performed at a crematorium in Gandhinagar.
Heeraben passed away at the UN Mehta hospital in Ahmedabad, where she was admitted on Wednesday for some heart-related problems.
Narendra Modi and his elder brother, Somabhai, gave the 'agnidah' to the mortal remains of Heeraben.
The Prime Minister flew down early in the morning from Delhi and paid floral tributes to his mother.
