A father searched for his runaway son until he found him, tied him up, and handed him over to the police.
This came after the son stabbed his teacher with a dagger in the town of Taxlant, in the Algerian state of Batna, then fled and disappeared.
The Naqous Court of the Batna Judicial Council announced, in a statement, that the teacher was struck by a dagger in the back by a fourth-year intermediate student, according to local media.
The statement added that the teacher received the student's guardian at the school and told him about his son's unacceptable behavior in class.
The statement continued that during the rest period and in the school yard, the student advanced from behind the teacher until she reached the administration office, and stabbed her with a wooden-handled dagger in her back.
The teacher was taken by ambulance to Naqous Hospital, after which she was transferred urgently to Batna Hospital.
The competent authorities opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of the incident, as preliminary investigations revealed that the teacher had expelled the student from class because of his repeated problems.
