A 20-year-old Syrian girl Eleen died in the coastal city of Latakia in northwestern Syria on Thursday due to stab wounds with a sharp object hours after she was transferred to Tishreen University Hospital.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior issued a statement, stating that the Northern Raml Police Station in Latakia received a report alerting that a person had stabbed a woman three times with a sharp object, near the Aden roundabout, opposite Sweid Hospital.
The statement added that instantly on receiving the tip off, a patrol from the station rushed to the scene. The girl was transferred to Tishreen University Hospital, where she was admitted to the operations room in a critical condition.
The perpetrator was arrested.
On being questioned, he confessed to his crime claiming that there were disputes between them.
However, social media platforms in Syria reported different details about the crime.
A person said that the victim was riding a motorcycle, which the perpetrator drove, and a dispute arose between them, so he stabbed her several times.
