Turkish social media platforms were abuzz with the stunning photographs and videos of deep orange clouds in the shape of cardamom rolls hovering over the city of Bursa.
Thousands of photos were shared on social media about the interesting clouds.
Experts said that this type of cloud is called lens cloud.
They emerge as a result of wind fluctuations caused by roughness.
The lens cloud was visible from distant places such as the Kestel, Gursu, Yildirim, Osmangazi and Nilufer districts.
It remained intact for over an hour.
Social media users were awe-struck by the cloud formation and some even claimed it as a UFO.
Meteorologists explain that this is a rare type of cloud.
According to weather experts, lens clouds are formed as a result of wind fluctuations caused by roughness and indicate that there is turbulence moving downwards on the nook and cranny side.
Experts said that such clouds can be seen in any geographical area where foreign winds are seen.
A Foehn is a type of dry, relatively warm, downslope wind that occurs in the lee of a mountain range.
Nevertheless, nature never ceases to amaze us. For the time being, the world enjoyed the natural phenomenon and shared it on social media platforms for likes and comments.
