The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases obligated a father to pay his daughter Dhs5,000 in compensation for the material and moral damage incurred by her after he assaulted her and caused her injuries.
The appellee’s two daughters and his granddaughter filed a lawsuit in which they demanded that he pay them Dhs49,000 in compensation after he assaulted them, in addition to obligating him to pay the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and the lawyer’s fees.
The father’s lawyer demanded that the lawsuit be rejected because it was filed by an unqualified person, regarding one of the two daughters.
The court affirmed that a criminal court convicted the appellee of assaulting the integrity of the body of the appellants, and was fined Dhs5,000.
The court refused to compensate the first daughter who is the custodian of the appellant (first daughter).
Regarding the second daughter, the court indicated that the father’s assault on her caused her injuries for which she deserved compensation, and considered that the amount of Dhs5,000 was appropriate.
