Rain hit various parts of the UAE on Monday, making the weather pleasant and bringing down the temperature by few notches.
Light to moderate rains fell on areas including Madinat Al Riyadh and Musaffah in Abu Dhabi, Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain, Al Mirfa, Dalma Island, Jebel Dhannah, Al Sila and Baynoona in the Dhafra Region, Fujairah International Airport and Deira and Ras Al Khor in Dubai. Meanwhile, light rains fell on Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain.
The lowest temperature of 3.4 degrees Celsius was recorded on Monday in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 5:15am.
Jebel Mebrah in Ras Al Khaimah recorded 6.3 degrees Celsius in, Rakna in Al Ain saw 9.3 degrees Celsius and the mercury dipped to 5.7 degrees Celsius in Damtha in Al Ain.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on motorists to take caution under the low horizontal visibility caused by the rainfall and dust-stirring winds and to stay away from large puddles and flooded valleys.
The Abu Dhabi Police also called on drivers to be careful due to the rainy weather and to abide by the changing speed limits as shown on the electronic guiding and traffic signs.
Tuesday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times in separate areas with a chance of rains, the NCM said.
Light to moderate easterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active sometimes at 10 to 25 and up to 40 km/h, while the sea will have moderate waves but will turn to rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman, it added.
Wednesday’s weather will be partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times in separate areas with a chance of rain, it said.
Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to active, strong and dust-stirring at times at 20 to 30 and up to 50 km/h, while the sea will have moderate waves but will turn to rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman, it added.
The weather on Thursday and Friday is expected to be partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times in separate areas with a chance of rain, the NCM said.
