The Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the relevant authorities and cooperation with national airlines, has launched the service of issuing (a Transit Visa for Stop-over electronically), to facilitate the arrival in the Kingdom for all purposes, and the procedures for obtaining and automating an entry visa.
The Ministry explained that the "Transit Visa for Stop-over" is free of charge, and will be immediately issued with the ticket, with three-month validity, and entitles its holder to a four-day stay in the Kingdom.
According to a report by SPA news agency, the Transit visa for Stop-over allows those in transit who wish to enter the Kingdom to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet's Mosque, in addition to roaming and attending tourism events.
The Ministry added that the new service will be effective as of Monady (30-01-23).
Travellers can apply for a transit visa through the electronic platforms of Saudia Airlines and Flynas, which will be automatically passed to the unified national visa platform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to process and issue the digital visa instantly and sent back to the travellers via e-mail.
The Ministry reiterated that the e-Transit Visa for Stop-over service will contribute to achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by bolstering the Kingdom's position and benefiting from its distinguished strategic location as a link between continents, an attraction station for transients, and a global tourist destination.
