A man filed a lawsuit before the Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases, in which he demanded that another man be obligated to pay him Dhs55,000, in compensation for the material and moral damages he incurred, as well as obliging him to pay fees and expenses.
The plaintiff said that the defendant filed a complaint against him accusing him of threatening a maid with death and of frequenting his house, and that he was imprisoned for 7 days due to that accusation, after which he was acquitted, as the complain was proved to be malicious.
The court indicated that the case papers did not prove that the appellee lied in the report he submitted against the complainant, and that the prosecution’s interrogation which the complainant attached to his lawsuit did not prove the malicious accusation against him. Consequently, the court rejected the case and obligated the complainant to pay the fees, expenses, and lawyer’s fees.
