The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), on Wednesday unveiled a new look of the registration form for the Emirates ID card.
The step comes within the strategic objectives of the Authority for service development to meet the customers’ needs.
“We developed the Emirates ID card registration form to reflect the visual identity and facilitate customer procedures,” the ICP said.
It explained that the development of the registration form included addition of new seven features, among of them is redesigning the form in line with the authority’s visual identity.
The new form also allows applicants to add personal photo.
In addition, it included a QR code to track status of the application, and a dedicated part to find out the next procedure.
The ICP, in the new form, added name of the company concerned with delivering the ID card, a QR code for the Customer Voice Gateway, and a QR code that allows the customer to modify the fingerprint appointment date.
Earlier, the ICP announced that the Emirates ID officially serves as a residency document, replacing the visa stickers stamped on passports. Therefore, residents will not need to go through separate processes for visa and Emirates ID.
It identified hassle-free four steps that applicants must follow to get a residence permit and Emirates Id card through the ICP website: http://smartservices.icp.gov.ae or via the smart application (UAEICP).
The steps start by registering in the UAE Pass, then applying for the service of issuing a residence permit and ID card, then submitting the application and paying the fees. After that, applicants will receive the ID card through authorized delivery companies.
