The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei said, “The cost of charging an electric car at station in the UAE is Dhs7.50, which can be used for a distance of 400 km.
The minister added during a Federal National Session (FNC) in Abu Dhabi, “The UAE is currently studying the provision of fast electric charging stations at gas stations, so that the charging process takes 15 to 20 minutes.
The minister said the UAE ranked 13 globally in cities and transport sustainability. This recognition further fuels our ambition to establish the UAE as a sustainable leader and successful model.
On the other hand, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure responded to a question about the rise in oil prices during the Federal National Council session.
The minister said that prices have returned to their position compared to the beginning of the crisis of Russia and Ukraine, and the UAE is a model measure in determining the pricing mechanism for oil derivatives.
To further support the UAE’s sustainability initiative, the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has endorsed a plan to transform taxis in Dubai (Dubai Taxi and franchise company taxis) into becoming fully environmentally friendly (hybrid, electric and hydrogen-powered) by 2027.
The move meets the requirements of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the Green Economy drive, and the Dubai Government's strategic directions toward comprehensive environmental sustainability.
