Emirates has unveiled a robotic check in system to be introduced by at Dubai airports within the next few months. These robots have been designated to complete travel procedures and other tasks at Dubai International Airport, in a world’s first of its kind system.
More than 200 robots are expected to be used in phases, according to an Emirates spokesperson. The locally developed robot is called “Sarah”, and it will be programmed to speak at least six languages, including Arabic to help in everything from check in to hotel bookings.
The announcement came on the sidelines of the "FORSA TEK" showcase event, organized by the Emirates Group, on Thursday, introducing the latest prominent innovations in technology and sustainability in the aviation and tourism industries.
"FORSA TEK" is an interactive market, where the Emirates Group and its partners showcase a variety of innovations, including robotics, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and other technologies that will lead the future of travel, with the participation of startups under the umbrella of “Intelak” and “Aviation X Lab” platforms and elite of industry experts.
