The UAE welcomed the resumption of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to His Highness the President of the UAE, welcomed the agreement between the two countries to resume diplomatic relations between them, appreciating the Chinese role in the breakthrough.
Gargash said on Twitter, " We welcome the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran to resume diplomatic relations between the two countries, and we appreciate the Chinese role in this regard.
“The UAE believes in the importance of positive communication and dialogue among the countries of the region towards consolidating the concepts of good neighborliness and starting from a common ground to build a more stable future for all."
Tehran and Riyadh agreed to resume diplomatic relations and re-open embassies within two months, according to a statement issued by Iran, Saudi Arabia and China.
"The agreement includes their affirmation of the respect for the sovereignty of states and the non-interference in internal affairs," it said.
