Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated a man to pay another Dhs22,500 after the latter filed a lawsuit, demanding that the appellee be obligated to repay him Dhs22,000, in addition to Dhs5,000 in compensation, and the fees and expenses of the lawsuit.
The appellant indicated that he handed the appellee Dhs15,000 in cash and transferred him Dhs7,000 through his bank account, to buy him a computer, as the appellee had experience about computers, but he did not do that, nor did he return the amount.
The appellant also demanded that the decisive oath be taken by the appellee.
The court ruled that the appellee should take the decisive oath to swear that he did not agree with the appellant to buy him a computer and did not receive Dhs22,000 from him, but he did not attend the session set for taking the oath despite being legally declared.
The court also indicated that the appellant was harmed due to not benefiting from the amount and the grief he felt as a result of what the appellee did, and then obligated the latter to pay the complainant Dhs22,000, in addition to Dhs500 in compensation, and rejected other requests.
