We all know that smoking is a serious health hazard. You find this warning splashed over adverts on television and in newspapers, even on billboards. However, a lot of people simply ignore the caveat, and do what they like, even putting other people’s lives at grave risk.
This is what happened when a man was caught smoking in the privy of a flight from Assam to Bengaluru. He was promptly arrested after the plane landed at Kempegowda International Airport in the Karnataka capital.
The culprit was Shehari Choudari, who violated smoking rules on an Indigo flight.
The indifferent passenger was smoking in the toilet in the early hours of the morning while the flight was in the air, risking other people’s lives. The crew raised an alarm after feeling a peculiar smell emanating from the toilet and alerted the management, according to Indo-Asian News Service.
A similar incident took place in the first week of March, when a 24-year-old woman was found smoking in the toilet on an Indigo flight, this time from Kolkata to Bengaluru. She was arrested on her arrival in the airport and was later released on bail.
