Different parts of the UAE on Sunday witnessed rainfall as a result of the weather condition affecting the UAE, which will continue until Tuesday.
Light rain fell on Al Shamkha, Al Khalidiya, Musaffah, Al Bateen, Al Hudayriat Island, Khalifa City, Rabdan, Al Muroor, and Shakhbout City in Abu Dhabi, and on Al Waqan and Al Quaa in Al Ain City.
Moderate rain also fell on Al Jazeera B.G., Mukheerz, Ghayathi, Al Sila, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Street, Bu Hasa , Liwa, Habshan and Hameem in the Dhafra area.
The lowest temperature in the country on Sunday morning, 8.6°C, was recorded in Rakna in Al Ain city at 06:30am, UAE local time.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expected that the weather on Monday would be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of rainfall in some western and internal areas.
Winds on Monday are expected to be southeasterly and southwesterly, turning to northwesterly, light to moderate, brisk at times, at a speed of 15 to 25 kilometres/hr, amounting to 35.
The sea will be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman, the NCM indicated.
Tuesday's weather, according to the NCM, will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with the formation of cumulus rainy clouds over separate areas of the country, especially the northern and eastern areas, with a rise in temperatures during the day.
On Tuesday, winds will be southeasterly and southwesterly, turning to northwesterly, moderate to active and strong at times, at a speed of 15 to 30 kilometres/hr, amounting to 50 kilometres/hr and stirring dust which will result in low horizontal visibility.
On Tuesday also, the sea will be moderate to turbulent in the Arabian Gulf, light to moderate, turbulent at times, with clouds formation in the Sea of Oman.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be clear to partly cloudy and dusty during the day and cloudy at times in the north, with the possibility of light rains in the far north, with a noticeable drop in temperature, NCM reported.
Winds will be northwesterly, moderate to active, and strong at times in the north and east, especially at sea, and stirring dust during the day, resulting in low horizontal visibility.
The sea will be turbulent, becoming moderate in the west, in the afternoon, in the Arabian Gulf, and turbulent in the Sea of Oman.
The NCM appealed to individuals to exercise caution while driving during rains, and with the lack of horizontal visibility, due to rains and dusty winds.
NCM also advised to stay away from places of water gathering and the valleys’ flows.
The Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to exercise caution due to rainy weather conditions, and to adhere to the variable speed shown on the indicative panels.
