President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan awarded Fernando Igreja, former Ambassador of Brazil to the UAE, the Medal of Independence of the First Order in recognition of his efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries in all fields.
Saleh Ahmed Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil, presented the medal to Igreja during a reception held in his honour. Igreja is currently serving as the Chief of Protocol at the Brazilian Presidential Palace.
Al Suwaidi praised the contributions of Igreja to the development of UAE-Brazil ties and bilateral cooperation during his many years of service in the country.
For his part, Igreja reiterated his pride at receiving this medal, which reflects the depth of bilateral relations and cooperation. He also noted that Brazil continues to seek close cooperation with the UAE to serve the peoples of both countries.
Igreja expressed his deep appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and praised the policies of His Highness, as well as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
He concluded by thanking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and all UAE government entities for their cooperation, which contributed to the success of his mission in bolstering relations between the two countries.
