The preliminary investigations into the incident of the Asian man, who committed suicide after killing his family, showed that he had poisoned his wife, while throttled his two daughters (aged between 3 to 7).
This was revealed to “Al Khaleej” newspaper by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, following examination of the scene.
He explained that the man, in his thirties, committed suicide by jumping from the 10th floor a residential tower in Al Majaz area, Sharjah, on Tuesday evening.
The central operations room of the Sharjah Police received a report about a person who fell from a building at 5:45 pm. Responding to the report, patrols of the Buhairah Police Station, accompanied by the national ambulance, were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The paramedics tried hard to revive him and took him to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
“On searching the deceased's clothes, a paper was found in his pocket, and following translation of the writing, we knew that he killed his wife and his two daughters in their apartment,” Major General Al Shamsi said.
The security teams instantly moved to his apartment, where they found that what he had said in the paper was true. They found his wife and his two daughters killed.
The preliminary investigations also confirmed that he was residing in Sharjah, and working for a company in another emirate.
“No clear motives detected or financial crises that might have led him to commit suicide, while his neighbours in the residential tower confirmed that he was in a stable social situation, and there were no previous marital disputes between him and his wife,” Major General Al Shamsi said.
He also indicated that the investigations team summoned one of the wife's friends to question her.
The investigations are still under way into the ghastly incident to ascertain the circumstances behind the gruesome act.
