The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases obligated a wife to pay her husband Dhs5,000 in compensation for the material and moral damage he incurred, after she hit him in the face with a phone.
The details date back to an earlier time, when the husband filed a lawsuit against his wife, demanding that she pay him Dhs150,000 in material and moral compensation, besides the fees, expenses, and lawyer’s fees, after she assaulted his body by hitting him with the phone in his face.
The husband explained that the wife was convicted based on a final criminal verdict. He also affirmed that after the wife assaulted him, he was psychologically damaged and took leave from work because of the marks left due to the beating. He added that his hand was affected by the beating for two weeks.
The wife affirmed that she did not assault her husband, but rather pushed him to defend herself, stressing that she was the mother of his children and was still his wife.
The court indicated that the criminal court had previously convicted the wife of assaulting the husband according to a final verdict, and then obligated the wife to pay her husband Dhs5,000 in compensation for all moral and material damage, besides the fees, expenses, and lawyer’s fees.
