A child who was stuck inside a well in the Syrian city of Kobani (Ain Al Arab), died after 11 hours of unsuccessful attempts to rescue him.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the child, Saleh Sheikh entered a critical health condition before his death, as a result of lack of oxygen.
All attempts to save the life of the 8-year-old in the Syrian village of Dihaban, Kobani, failed after he fell into an artesian well 120 meters deep.
The little boy lost his life, and rescue teams have not yet been able to extract his body.
A videograb shows rescuers trying to pull the child out of the well.
The child was stuck 40-50 meters deep inside the well, and the rescuers have only primitive tools used in digging artesian wells, according to the Syrian Observatory.
Video clips showed dozens of villagers and rescue teams gathering, trying to get him out of the water that flooded the well, but to no avail.
The incident of the child brought to mind the story of the Moroccan child Rayan, who died in a similar way that occupied the Arab media on February 1, 2022, in a well, followed by intensive rescue attempts, but the incident ended with the announcement of his death on February 5.
