Several parts of the UAE witnessed light to heavy rain for hours on Thursday. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) called on the public to take caution during the rainfall on the eastern areas and to stay away from large puddles and flooded valleys
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior called on motorists to be cautious while driving during the unstable weather conditions.
Rains started to fall on Ajban and Seeh Shuaib in Abu Dhabi, Nahel, Al Hayer and Al Foah in Al Ain, Al Ain-Dubai Road and Hatta in Dubai, Kalba in Sharjah, Wadi Esfini and Wadi Al Qor in Ras Al Khaimah and Al Qarya, Al Halat and Wadi Al Abadilah in Fujairah.
Friday’s weather is expected to be dusty to partly cloudy with a chance of some cumulus clouds over some eastern areas, turning to cloudy and rainy in the west with a noticeable drop in temperature, especially in the west, and to humid at night and on Saturday morning on some coastal and inland areas.
Moderate to active southwesterly to northwesterly clouds will blow, turning to strong and sand-stirring at times offshore at 15 to 25 and up to 45 km/h, causing the horizontal visibility to be lower, while the sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and will have moderate to rough waves in the Sea of Oman, it added.
Saturday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy and dusty at times during the day, turning to cloudy in some western and coastal areas with a chance of light waves in the west on Sunday, it said.
Moderate northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active and dust-stirring at times at 10 to 25 and up to 40 km/h. while the sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and will have moderate to rough waves at times in the Sea of Oman, it added.
Sunday’s weather will be partly cloudy and dusty at times during the day, turning to cloudy with a chance of rainfall on some coastal areas, especially in the west, it said.
Light to moderate northwesterly to southwesterly winds will blow, turning to active and sand-stirring at times at 15 to 30 and up to 40 km/h, causing the horizontal visibility to be lower, while the sea will have rough to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough waves at times in the Sea of Oman.
