The Dubai Criminal Court sent a GCC national to a month behind bars, on charges of threatening a cleaning worker with a knife in a parking lot of a cooperative society in Dubai because the cleaner asked him for Dhs10 as fees for cleaning his electric scooter.
The details of the case date back to November 2022, when a security official of a cooperative society in Al Twar area submitted a report stating that a cleaning worker was threatened with a knife by a young GCC national.
The security official said that he saw the suspect entering the society’s parking lot with a scooter where he asked the cleaner to wash it.
After washing the scooter, he saw the suspect yelling at the cleaner because he asked him for Dhs10.
The victim stated in the interrogations that the suspect refused to pay the fees of washing the scooter and threatened to attack him with a knife, so he asked his colleagues to help him, as they caught him and informed the police.
According to the case file, the suspect confessed to his crime in the police and prosecution interrogations, so he was referred to the Criminal Court in Dubai.
