Australia has set April 22 (Saturday) as the first day of Eid Al Fitr, based on astronomical calculations and the weather conditions which will make the chances of sighting the Shawwal moon on Thursday are very less.
The announcement of Eid Al Fitr day came through a statement issued by the Australian Fatwa Council.
According to the statement that Friday will coincide with the last day of the month of Ramadan, and that Saturday, April 22, 2023, will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr, and it will be the first day of the month of Shawwal of the year 1444 AH.
Australia will be the first country in the world to officially announce the date of Eid Al Fitr.
