Saudi Arabia has announced that its moon sighting committee has spotted the crescent in Saudi Arabia.
The authorities said that Friday will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr.
Following the Saudi announcement, the UAE authorities announced that Friday will be the first day of Eid Al-Fitr in the Emirate.
The International Astronomy Center published, through its official account on the Twitter site, that until now, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Sultanate of Brunei have announced that Eid Al-Fitr will be on Saturday, April 22, due to the lack of evidence of seeing the crescent on Thursday evening.
The centre added, “This was also announced by the authorities representing Muslims in all countries from Australia, Thailand, Singapore and Japan.
The Astronomy Centre said that numerous photographs of the crescent moon are circulating now on social media sites.
These pictures are incorrect, as they are old pictures of the crescent moon, and the date shown above the pictures is that it is on April 02, 2022 AD.
