The UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi on Friday shared a video from International Space Station celebrating Eid Al Fitr with my trusty companion Suhail the mascot.
Al Neyadi said on Twitter, “Today, I’ll be celebrating Eid with my trusty companion Suhail.
“On this blessed occasion I send my warmest greetings to my family, friends, and everyone back on Earth. ?
“May this special occasion bring you peace, happiness, and prosperity. Eid Mubarak!”
The Emirati astronaut is on a 6-month long space mission.
Astronaut Al Neyadi and his Crew-6 colleagues have started to work on their tasks aboard the ISS.
The four Crew-6 members are two NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Warren Hoburg, Russian cosmonaut, Andrey Fedyaev, and Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi.
Recently, Al Neyadi shared a photo from ISS asking his followers to spot him.
He wrote, “Can you spot me? ?
From my favourite place on the ISS — the Cupola. It is from here that we monitor Earth on a daily basis.”
The Cupola Observational of the International Space Station is also know as the "window to the world."
The Cupola is the panoramic control tower for the ISS, a dome-shaped module with windows for observing and guiding operations outside of the Station. It is a pressurised observation and work area that accommodates command and control workstations and other hardware.
The 360º view means that spacewalks can be observed from Cupola, along with visiting spacecraft and external areas of the ISS. Cupola has an important role in external Station activities.
