It seemed like the mother of all heists. Burglars decamped with 436 iPhones worth around half a million dollars from an Apple Store in Washington recently. They cut a hole in the bathroom wall of a neighbouring coffee shop to gain access to the backroom of the Apple Store.
The thieves also helped themselves to Apple merchandise worth thousands.
They created a large hole in the Seattle Coffee gear outlet to gain access to the backroom of the Apple Store, according to a report in a section of the Indian media.
The bathroom wall dent was meant to avoid alerting the store’s security network.
The theft seemed to be taken straight from a Hollywood movie.
The whole operation was done in less than 15 minutes. The boss of the coffee appliance store showed the damage to his store on Twitter.
