A Jordanian woman has not left her room for 16 years, and the reason is her weight, which is approximately 400 kilograms. Social media pioneers shared the story of a 37-year-old Jordanian woman, named Nadia Afana, who has not left her room for 16 years.
The woman suffers from obesity as a result of complications from a medical error, following a gastric bypass operation she underwent when she was 14 years old.
The authorities decided to take care of her and get her out of her room for the first time in nearly two decades.
She isolated herself due to her excessive weight.
The Jordanian Civil Defense chalked out a plan and evacuated her to a hospital in Amman.
The Director of Civil Defense in Zarqa, Brigadier General Muhammad Khreisat, said that the woman was evacuated from the second floor to the hospital using special equipment because of her excessive weight, after developing a special plan and conducting a comprehensive survey of the house at a time when Nadia expressed joy after finally leaving the house she had been in.
Nadia is currently being taken care of to start her liposuction process so that she can live her life again in a healthy way.
