A smartwatch saved its owner from certain death.
The Apple watch called the emergency services immediately for help after the woman collapsed to the ground and fainted.
The lady's son recalled the story and said that his mother suddenly collapsed while she was in a hotel during a business trip.
The woman informed her friend staying in the same hotel about the uneasiness.
The friend immediately called the emergency and ambulance services, but was shocked.
The emergency services told her that the ambulance was already on its way to the hotel.
When the patient arrived at the hospital, it was found that an artery in her heart was ruptured.
This forced the medical team to perform several surgeries, after which the woman was transferred to the intensive care unit.
It was later revealed that the Apple Watch the woman was wearing called the emergency services through a feature related to fall alerts, also unknown as the “life jacket.”
If the Apple Watch detects a sudden violent fall and you remain motionless for about a minute, it will poke your wrist, beep, and initiate a call to emergency services.
