A 5-year-old Palestinian boy died after he had a severe panic attack as a result of Israeli air raids on Gaza.
Palestinian Health Ministry said that 5-year-old Tamim Daoud’s little heart couldn’t bear it and he died of panic attack in Gaza.
The ministry said 20 Palestinians, including 5 children and 4 women, were murdered and 42 others wounded by the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza Strip.
Local media reported that Israeli airstrikes killed 10-year-old Palestinian girl Layan Madoukh in the Gaza Strip.
Another strike also killed Palestinian child Mayar Ezzdin along with her father and brother.
The second round of cross-border fire in a week came after Israel launched strikes on Tuesday against three Palestinian commanders it said had planned attacks against Israelis, following months of escalating violence.
Cairo, which has mediated a truce in previous rounds of fighting, had begun mediating a ceasefire, but there was no immediate confirmation from the Israeli side.
The White House said on Tuesday it was closely following Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip that killed three Palestinian rebel leaders, and that it was aware of reports that 10 civilians were "tragically killed" in the strikes.
"We call for all parties to deescalate the situation," a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council said.
"Israel has the right to protect itself and defend its people from indiscriminate rocket attacks launched by terrorist groups," it added.
