The Kalba Prosecution Office referred a suspect to the Minor Criminal Court, on charges of indecent assault, sexual exploitation of a child, and other charges included in the referral order.
The details of the case go back to a communication submitted by the victim's mother, that she discovered that the accused, a relative of her, was sexually exploiting her son and that he had assaulted him under duress several times since the victim was 11 years old.
Investigations revealed that the accused assaulted the victim several times and threatened him not to report the incident.
It was also found that the accused abused narcotics and psychotropic substances.
After completing the investigations, the Public Prosecution referred the accused to the Criminal Court, which ruled the conviction of the accused and punished him with imprisonment of twenty years and eight months and a fine of Dhs200,000 for all charges, in addition to obligating him to pay judicial fees.
