The drive towards adopting artificial intelligence technology has picked up pace in several parts of the world. Now we have robots or virtual assistants interacting with customers in government offices.
But what if an animal comes in direct contact with a robot? This is what happened in Florida, when a five-foot crocodile came face-to-face with a robot patrolling storm drains in Florida.
To the crocodile, the robot must have been like some sort of ET.
It was totally unsettled by the strange ‘creature’, with its cameras almost scaring the living daylights out of the mugger. It lost its way in the underground storm pipe, and very cautiously approached the robot.
Then, rather than use its tail to attack the tech creation, it turned tail and quickly made an exit.
But the robot was not one to give up. It followed the crocodile for another 340 feet before becoming stuck, much to the relief of the reptile.
City workers were checking potholes in the area with the help of the robot when it came in contact with the crocodile, according to the Independent.
Storm drains help check flooding during the hurricanes and tropical storms which lash Florida between June and November every year.
