Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said that the total number of Emiratis working in the private sector reached more than 66,000 citizens by the end of the first quarter of this year 2023.
The Emiratis were employed in 16,000 companies in the private sector.
Al Awar stated during the session of the Federal National Council that the current year witnessed the joining of more than 10,500 citizens, male and female, to work in the private sector, at a time when the number of new companies that employed citizens of the country during the current year reached more than 2,000 additional companies, with a growth rate of 13%.
According to the percentage of citizens working in the private sector, the percentage of citizens working in the business services sector reached 10%, and in construction to 14% and in trade and repair services to 13%, while it is 10% in transformational industries.
Al-Awar touched on the results of the labor market management in the country during the first quarter of the year 2023, which witnessed an increase in the growth of the number of establishments registered in the ministry to 4%, the growth of the number of small and medium enterprises registered with the ministry to 3.9%, and the growth of the number of workers registered in the ministry by 4%, and the growth in the number of registered skilled workers by 3.3%.
