The Emirates Schools Establishment has identified a number of punitive measures for cheating violations in the year-end exams.
Exams are scheduled to start on June 7 and continue until June 16 for students of grade three to grade twelve in public and private schools that follow the Ministry of Education curriculum.
If it is proved that a student has cheated in an exam for any academic subject, he will be punished.
A student will be given a score of zero if he verbally or behaviourally has assaulted a school staff member or has deliberately destroyed the exam paper.
If a student physically assaults a colleague or employee, he will be deprived of all exams, and the code of behavioural discipline will be applied to him.
In case of repeated transgressions, the student will be deprived of all exams in all academic subjects in the current semester.
There are strict procedures against a student who tries to use social media or search engines during the exam.
A teacher who helps a student cheat will be referred to a disciplinary committee and measures will be taken against him in accordance with the laws and regulations.
If a person has solved the exam questions on behalf of a student, he will be legally considered as an impersonator and this transgression falls under the penalties related to forgery crimes.
