The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases obligated a divorced woman to hand over the marital apartment, free of all belongings, to her ex-husband.
The husband filed a lawsuit in which he demanded to obligate his divorced wife to vacate the apartment, to hand it over to him free of objects and people, and to obligate her to hand over a discharge of water and electricity bills and any other services from the date she took possession of the apartment.
He also demanded to obligate her to pay him the rental value for the period she resided at Dhs7,500 per month.
The husband said that the appellee was his wife but they were divorced and he was obligated to pay a cash allowance for the housing rent, and that his ex-wife refused to evict it, while the lease contract between him and the landlord ended.
The court clarified that the wife had been given a rent of Dhs30,000, but she still occupied the apartment and that her stay in it was illegal, and accordingly the court obligated her to vacate the apartment and hand it over to her ex husband.
