The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) held a meeting for the joint evaluation team of weather and tropical conditions to check the readiness of the concerned authorities to deal with the tropical situation that the country might be affected by during the upcoming period.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The NCEMA indicated that all relevant authorities are fully prepared to deal with the tropical situation and take all proactive measures, each within its scope of work. In addition, all business continuity plans for all vital authorities are also fully ready, it added.
The plans will be streamlined after the conditions in the areas expected to be affected by the tropical situation have been assessed, it said. Through continuous follow-up by the concerned authorities, the Ministry of Interior and the concerned teams stressed that keeping the society safe and protecting lives and property are on top of the list of priorities and that they are fully ready to deal with any emergency situation in accordance with the plans set to ensure the security and safety of all.
The Ministry of Interior called on the public to take caution, be committed to the safety requirements and abide by the instructions of the concerned authorities. It also called on them not to spread rumours and to get information, instructions and updates from the UAE official sources.
