The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases obligated a person to pay Dhs18,000 to a woman, and fined him Dhs1,500, after he borrowed the amount from her and refused to pay it.
The woman filed a lawsuit against the man, demanding that he pay her Dhs18,000, and a compensation of Dhs2,000, besides the fees and expenses. She explained that she lent him the amount through a bank transfer, and when she asked him to pay, he refused.
The appellant attached photocopies of messages exchanged between her and the appellee via the WhatsApp.
The court indicated that the case papers and WhatsApp messages proved that the appellant already transferred Dhs18,000 to the appellee, who admitted that he received the amount but was unable to pay because he had no money.
Accordingly, the court obligated him to pay the appellant the amount in addition to Dhs1,500 in compensation for the damages she incurred.
