Al Ain Court of First Instance obligated a client to pay a lawyer Dhs280,000, as they had signed a legal services agreement in which they agreed that the lawyer would provide services and legal advice to her for a period of 4 years in return for the amount.
The lawyer reportedly complied with what was in the agreement, but the client did not pay the annual fees.
In the details, a lawyer filed a lawsuit against a client, in which he requested to obligate her to pay him Dhs280,000, and a legal interest of 9% annually, from the date of filing the lawsuit until full payment, besides the fees, expenses, and lawyer’s fees.
The appellant explained that, according to a legal services agreement, he agreed with the appellee to provide his services and legal advice for a period of 4 years in return for annual fees of Dhs70,000, with a total of Dhs280,000, adding that he committed to the agreement, but the client did not pay the annual fees.
The court clarified that the client admitted to the agreement and then the court obligated her to pay the lawyer Dhs280,000 and rejected the request to pay legal interest.
