Residents of the UAE can print the visa sticker for free via the UAEICP smart application, according to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP).
In 2022, the ICP stopped putting the visa sticker on the residents’ passports stating that the ID on the residency was enough, to reduce the time and effort for expatriates wishing to obtain or renew the residency.
According to the ICP, residents wishing to obtain the sticker can download the UAEICP app after logging in with the username and password or using the digital identity UAEPASS, after which the window for the resident will appear through which he can apply for all available services and view the service portfolio which contains a copy of the ID and visa sticker. He can also download it in PDF format or share it.
The ICP affirmed that it has provided all technical facilities to obtain the residency details through a printed form which can be applied for, stamped with the ICP’s seal, through the app or through the smart services system via the website “www.icp.gov.ae”, where a resident can electronically print out the residency details form in specific simple steps, which starts with accessing the ICP’s website, then selecting smart channels, and logging in to the system using the personal account or an institutions’ account, then selecting the service through the control panel, and finally filling in the application data and pay the prescribed fees.
