The UAE ranked first in the Arab world and 28th globally in the Artificial Intelligence Index, issued by Tortoise Media, a global company with an advisory board and AI experts from around the world.
The index aims to monitor developments related to artificial intelligence in 62 countries that have chosen to invest in it, indicating that the revolution of this type of intelligence will affect business, government and society.
The indicator was based on criteria divided into 7 sub-pillars.
They are: talent, infrastructure, operational environment, research and development, government strategy, and trade.
In the sub-categorizations, the UAE ranked fourth in the standard of infrastructure dedicated to artificial intelligence, the 24th place in government strategies that support technology, the 29th place in the standard of commercial projects that focus on artificial intelligence, and the 34th place in research related to technology.
The report said that this revolution will change the way business is done, and will have a great impact on societies and governments, and this year it has made a huge leap forward.
The report indicated that the emergence of the ChatGPT, and the subsequent race between major technology companies to develop their own artificial intelligence models, led to an intensified debate about the best ways to manage the risks of this new technology.
